Presenting the fourth in our new series of core stouts, River of Truth. We added organic Shantawene coffee from Sidamo, Ethiopia (roasted by our friends at Mostra) and organic Sri Lankan coconut to this imperial stout, resulting in a cascade of aromas including coconut, marzipan, and chocolate mousse. Flavors of espresso fudge, macaroon, vanilla wafer and black treacle flood the senses amidst a full body and velvety mouthfeel. Show Less

500ml bottle, 2021 vintage. Fudgy chocolate aroma with notes of coffee, roasted malt, molasses, caramel, coconut and vanilla. Pours deep brown with a thin mocha brown head that has no retention and no lacing as well as some floaties. Starts with rich fudgy chocolate, coffee, caramel, and coconut flavors as well as having a rich, full body and thick, viscous mouthfeel. Finishes quite smooth with molasses, vanilla and roasted malt flavors. Not really sure how well it held up to the fresh version over the last 5+ years, but still pretty tasty.

500 mL bottle. Pours black, with a small, dark brown head, and some unappetizing floaters. Caramel, cappuccino, toasted coconut, and vanilla. Sweet and syrupy, with a mellow, roasty bitterness. Heavy, syrupy, and a bit hot. Decadent and delicious.
