Imperial Stout
Our 30th Anniversary Ale is a testament to three-plus decades of hard-work. It honors all that has helped us get to this point – hard work, quality and authenticity.
It reminds us of where we’ve been, how we’ve grown over the years, the challenges we’ve faced and at the same time, looks forward to what comes next.
Also a nod to another Bell's favorite, Expedition Stout, flavors of dark chocolate and fruit meld to create a full-bodied, roasty stout.
A fair amount of Polaris hops lend a brightness and a nice character that will help carry the beer in its early stages making it incredibly drinkable and interesting. Malt characteristics will continue to develop over time, so that beer drinkers who choose to cellar it can enjoy the beer for years to come.

Bottle shared at the Leighton mega 20k tasting. 1/03/2017. Huge thanks to Leighton for this one. A dark black brown coloured pour with a a halo of dark tan head. Aroma is sweet praline, brown sugars, dried fruits, raisin cake. Flavour is composed of sweet raspberry ripple, dark choc, earthy roast, praline, hint of coconut. Hint of ashy roast in the finish. Palate is medium sweet. Moderate carbonation, woody tannin. Really good.

Bottle received in trade. Thanks Brandon! Black pour with a small frothy mocha head. Huge roasty malt-heavy coffee driven nose with bitter chocolate, moist soil, liquorice & wood. Slightly sweet, bitter, malty & heavy roasty. Soft, round, roasted astringent, tiny boozy mouthfeel. Tiny bit high in the carbonation. Huge roast & piney hops finish. Sucker punch in a good way. Very American & as expected from this brewer very tasty.

Black liquid, 1 finger head of tan foam.
Smells of big roasted malt, some caramel, coffee, a wee bit of oxidation.
Roasted almost burnt malt taste with mild coffee that brings some bitterness.
Alcohol not present too much in the taste but certainly assertive after the swallow.
Nice enough Imperial Stout.

Bottle thanks to Rob. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong chocolate, roast, licorice. Medium body, roast, dark chocolate, wood, boozy finish, very good.

Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy irregular beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots and lots of mocha, coffee, ripe banana, alcohol. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, pretty bitter, very roasted, coffee, some banana, caramel, hoppy, alcohol. Aftertaste: slightly sourish, sweet, caramel, dried fruits, bit nutty, pretty sweet, lots of alcohol, ripe banana, pretty yeasty.

0.355 l bottle from ’De Bierkoning’, bottled in August 2015. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, brown head. Sweetish, malty, slightly roasty and minimally boozy aroma of black chocolate, milk coffee, mocca, cocoa and some vanilla. Sweet, malty and slightly roasty taste of dark chocolate, mocca, milk coffee, cocoa and some vanilla, followed by a rather long, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly warming finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Moreish, satisfying stuff which is worthy for the celebration.

Catch up rating from Saturday’s RIS bottle share. Thanks to Jake65. Dark, inky black with small, modest beige head. Leaning to the sweet side without being cloying, molasses and brown sugar, nice roast grain. Taste elements: burnt toast, chocolate and coffee. Smooth, should cellar exceptionally well.

Boise Imperial Stout Tasting. Deep brown color with a modest layer of brown head. Roasty aroma is heavy, balanced with the chocolate sweetness. Taste is rich, heavy roast, but moderate in sweetness. More chocolate and a little bit of pitted fruit. Well done.
