Our 30th Anniversary Ale is a testament to three-plus decades of hard-work. It honors all that has helped us get to this point – hard work, quality and authenticity.
It reminds us of where we’ve been, how we’ve grown over the years, the challenges we’ve faced and at the same time, looks forward to what comes next.
Also a nod to another Bell's favorite, Expedition Stout, flavors of dark chocolate and fruit meld to create a full-bodied, roasty stout.
A fair amount of Polaris hops lend a brightness and a nice character that will help carry the beer in its early stages making it incredibly drinkable and interesting. Malt characteristics will continue to develop over time, so that beer drinkers who choose to cellar it can enjoy the beer for years to come.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Dark pit fruit and chocolate aromas. Dark hot chocolate upfront turning to candied pit fruit and licorice before the lasting espresso finish.

Pours black color with light brown head. Roasted malt, chocolate, molasses, and dark fruit aromas. Bittersweet dark chocolate and roasted malt flavors with some sweet molasses, and figs. Full body with minimal carbonation. Very nice.

Poured from bottle thanks Willrunforbeer dark black with a nice one finger mocha head. Aromas of dark chocolate coffee and licorice. Taste is roasted malt licorice chocolate nice mouth feel. Good beer.

Another homerun from what is probably the best brewery in the world. Bottle thanks to Jeff. Pours a jet black color, a medium brown head. Huge cascading notes of roast, dark fruit and coffee. Massive flavors, oily, roast, metallic, big sugar coffee, dark fruit. Just amazing. Lovely soft slick palate.

Bottle. Jet black color, dark brown head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma has dark cocoa, burnt toast, vanilla, toasted coconut, prunes, dates. Taste has loads of dark fruit covered in chocolate, dipped in coffee and touched with brandy. Chewy mouthfeel. Can’t tell its strength, and I could drink this all day. Must have more.

12 oz. bottle thanks to Eric S. For splitting this gem. Nice oily viscosity on top a black, used motor oil color. As I swirl the snifter it leaves an oily ring. Aroma is deep and layered, dark fruits, roast, brownie batter and burnt coffee bean.
The flavor is very very much the aroma with a bitterness to cut the sweetness a tad. Most like coffee bitterness. The body is full and dense with an oily texture. The alcohol is mostly hidden as well. A touch of molasses, a touch of espresso bean, a touch of chocolate cake batter... Wow, for a base imperial stout with no adjuncts and not place in any kind of barrel, this is a very finely crafted. Classic and spot on the style. Really happy I had half this bottle, a treat!

Sample at the Far Out! Space Tasting #2 on 10/01/2015. Black pour with a medium foamy tan head that diminishes gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of dark chocolate, roast malt, coffee and a bit of dark fruit. The finish is charred malt and coffee. Good beer all around.

Bottle. Opaque black body. Frothy dark tan head. Aroma of Molasses, roasted malts, ash, chocolate, The flavor is heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Full body, velvety texture, moderate carbonation. Taste of roast and sweet molasses. Hints of cocoa, dark chocolate and licorice. The bitter finish just barely rescues this beer from being cloyingly sweet. A dessert sipper.
