Our flagship IPA is a well-balanced yet aggressive West Coast IPA that showcases Yakima Valley hops at their finest. Late additions of Simcoe®, Citra®, and Mosaic® give this beer its complex citrus, fruity, and floral aroma and flavor. Named for a unique piece of farm equipment that removes hop vines from the trellis during the annual hop harvest, Topcutter IPA delivers loads of hoppiness all year long.

12oz can. Canned on August 11 consumed August 27. Sixteen-day-old IPA, not bad. Picked up from fridge section of University Village QFC. Poured into a can shape glass, to be precise its Free State’s Burroughser Weisse. Pours with medium head and average retention. Lacing is light. Color is clear dark gold. Aroma is mostly green hops but not over-the-top, not resinous, mostly piney-herbal mix. A light layer of floral and citrus underneath that. Bitterness is moderate on the nose. Flavor is similar but the hop bitterness is lower than anticipated. The beer finishes dry but not acrid. Malt is just a touch present, just a bit there balancing out some of the bitterness. This is a perfect example of a well made IPA that isn’t even the hops that appeal to me.

Deep amber body, small creamy head, thick lacing. Aroma equal parts malt and hops, taste favors the caramel malts. Good, but not as good as expected.

Can thanks to further: Poured a orange color with a white head. Aroma is mosaic, citrus fruity hops. Taste is a nice rugged fruity hops which reminded me why I like good IPAs.

Medium copper with a white head. Floral and citrus fruit aroma with a decent sweet undertone. Body is a tad thin for 6.8%. Flavor is full on citrus fruit hop, medium floral notes that just can’t seem to escape the grasp of the citrus, and a solid sweet note that keeps this one grounded. Finish is nicely bitter. A very well brewed IPA in the standard PNW IPA mold. Worthy of a sixer purchase.

Can at the 7th Tasting in Belgrade-Serbia, thank you luttonm for having brought this one all the way from Seattle. Ciao Matt! Pours an hazy shy golden color, medium white foamy head. Nose: citrusy with a grassy background, flowers, spring field. Mouth: frizzy, round feel of fresh herbal and citrusy notes, bodied. Another gem with fresh and well-selected hops.

Draft @ Drover’s Run. Merry friggin Christmas to me… who woulda thought the newly remodeled Jacques Spur (off Highway 95, 20 miles from Lewiston) had a top shelf beer selection?! Bright golden pour with a thick, creamy finger of white head. Tons of lacing for the entire shaker. Nose is somewhat muted, but in all fairness it was served a bit too cold. Citrus, tropical fruit, and floral hops. Sweet and enticing. The flavor is huge hoppy goodness. Citrus, tropical fruit, floral… just a hint of pine. A medium body and moderate bitterness. Great flavors. I had a couple pints with dinner and I am impressed. Bale Breaker is on the radar.

On tap at Seattle Winter Beer Festival 2014, pours a crystal clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of piney hops, along with some biscuity malt. Flavour brings out more of mineral water, piney hops, and dry biscuity malt. Very well-balanced, with a nice dry palate. Nice IPA.
