RASPBERRY FARMHOUSE ALE - a strong, dry saison fermented 4 weeks with a blend of farmhouse ale yeasts + a blend of brettanomyces bruxellensis & brettanomyces claussenii, then aged for 3 weeks on 300 pounds of locally-grown red raspberries (sourced from smucker farms (lancaster, pa)).

Tap at Bluejacket. Filtered red body. Not much of a head. Rather massive raspberry aroma on top of saison yeast, which sort of cancels some of the fun out. Doesn’t really come together that well. I think this should be categorized as a fruit beer, despite the awkward yeast undertones, which dry out the fruit tones.

Draft at the Brewery. Poured a bright, hazy red color with a medium sized pink head. Aroma was funky, dusty barn and raspberries. Straw and somewhat sweet raspberry flavor. Decent.

Draft at the source. Nice bright clear red color, pink head. Aroma of dusty raspberry. Taste has berries, light funky cobwebs. Very tasty.

4 oz pour on draft at Bluejacket. Clear ruby red with off-white head. Aromas of raspberries and jam. Tastes of berries, spice, herbs, light yeast and floral notes. Medium body with a dry finish. A little too floral for me but still solid, Brett might need some more time to develop too.
