Little known fact: we love beer around here. Everything about beer. For this beer release we decided to have a little fun with fermentation. All beers are either Lagers or Ales depending on how it was fermented. Ale yeast ferments from the top, Lager yeast ferments from the bottom. They also ferment at different temperatures and bring different flavors to the beer no matter the recipe. Don’t believe us? Well, let me introduce you to our two new Beers. Both of them the exact same recipe. A pilsner malt base with all German hops and an all Ocelot recipe (think:hoppy) One fermented from the top, the other from the bottom. One an Ale, one a Lager. Come down and try these side by side. You know, for science.

I actually like the lager a little better for once. This has more subdued pine and peel aromas. Though citrus is a little more raw. Still easy drinking and great. Pours golden with great head and lacing. Bitter finish. Tap at brewery.

32oz growler shared at the November 2015 DC Gathering. Poured a hazy golden color with a small white head. Aroma was nice hop notes, lots of tropical character here. Light straw. Flavor was strong hop notes, light sweetness. Pineapple, sweet malts. Very tasty.

32oz growler pours a hazy gold with some spitty, white head. Nose has chive, grass, straw, dank hop, mild tropical fruit. Flavor is lightly sweet, malt, guava, pineapple, chive, lemon, tangerine, soap, honey. Dry finish. Very nice.

Growler courtesy of nimbleprop, thank you sir! Clear very pale yellow color. Nice hoppy grassy earthy licorice and scallion aroma. Taste is hoppy lemony lager. Tasty.
