Don’t be phased by the haze – Hazy Rat is the ultimate easy-going maestro of good times. With epic levels of juiciness, this rat is the ideal drop for your next session. A hazy, thirst quenching and completely crushable session IPA with flavours of pineapple, citrus and cantaloupe. Effortlessly sessionable and pillowy.

On tap at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a hazy pale straw with a small scummy white head and excellent lacing, and fairly high carbonation. There’s citrus and grapefruit sharpness in the aroma. In the mouth it starts off sharp and tart but also juicy. With flavours of lemon and citrus plus hints of pineapple. Later it becomes more conventionally bitter with floral hops and traces of mango leading to a dry and slightly sticky finish. Way too much citrus in this one for me.

Draught keg at Tønne, Leicester. Light gold, pretty hazy with a small uneven white head and lots of lacing. Light aroma here with notes of pineapple and grapefruit. Taste is more engaging with a lovely initial flavour combination of vanilla and cracked wheat, delving more deeply into the hop immediately afterward. Short finish. Watery body. It everything I'd want from a session IPA but at 40% the intensity. It's okay but not really feeling it.

Hazy gold with a bubbly white head and a juicy fruit aroma. Very fizzy with yeasty hop notes, juicy fruit and a dry bitter finish.
