We love hops at Caboose. We also love rye beers. Casey Jones satisfies both of those loves by providing spicy rye characteristics in a robust, hoppy pale ale. Cascade, Citra and Zythos hops create notes of pine, citrus and earth, while the rye and barley malts add a touch of sweetness and malt character, resulting in one of our employee favorites.

Draft at the source. Clear golden color, bright white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of lightly spiced fruit. Taste has spice! and raw brown bread. You’ll like this one if you like that rye spiciness.

At source: pours light copper with a white head. Aroma is yeasty, fruity, full of rye, and some pine. It tastes kind of unbalanced but not in an entirely bad way. Rye bitterness couples strangely with the hop bitterness. Kind of sweet too. Not bad.

Draft at the source. Poured a ruby red color with a large off-white head. Aroma was pleasant rye spice, with some sweet malts. Flavor had a light pine note, with some rye notes. Interesting!
