This winter, IBUs start accumulating like snow in Colorado with our new Accumulation White IPA . Brewing a white IPA was not only a way to salute the white beauty falling from the sky, but a direct revolt to the longstanding tradition of brewing dark beers for winter and winter seasonal beers. At least that’s what our rebellious brewer Grady Hull likes to claim as he shovels in plenty of new hop varietals and a bit of wheat for a smooth mouthfeel. Stack up a few cases of Accumulation White IPA to keep your long nights glowing blizzard white.
Admin Note: Brewed until 2021. Recipe changed to a hazy IPA in 2022.

From a party: pours light hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is bright and fruity, citrus especially, but not too much grapefruit. Taste is lightly bitter and quite fruity with some light fruitiness. Light hoppy aftertaste. Body is not too light. Not bad.

Draught at Old Chicago Plaza 205, Portland
Hazy blond color, creamy head. Smooth beer; the malt base is sweetish but non descriptive; the hopping is very good, fresh, fruity, peachy, citrusy, and a bit musky.
Excellent.

From pictured bottle. Pale ale with things floating around in there. Taste is fairly pointy and astringent. Yes, difficult citrid taste. Chewing on green lemon rinds. Smell is simple compared to the flavor impact. Perfectly on style. Even covers any sense of carbonation. Just glad to have it during these difficult times.

[2/17/15] Draught at The Libertine Pub in Morro Bay. Clear golden. Pleasant piney and “green” hops aroma. Hoppy flavor, piney, fruity and “green”, with pretty strong bitterness. Medium-bodied.

Keg at the Green Dragon, PDX, 11/11/14. Clear pale golden with a decent white cap. Nose is pale malts, straw, citric peel, orange, light hops. Taste comprises juicy hops - much more prominent than the nose, melon, light mineral trace, straw, tangerine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok.

Bottle from a Wild Plum shop in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Pours an unclear pale yellow with a small white head that leaves a medium lacing. The taste is an interesting mixture of the wheat, lemon and coriander of a white beer, and the fruity citrus hops of an IPA. The taste is on the sweet end without compromising the bitterness of an IPA nor the slight acidity of a white. The palate is medium with a rather dry finish. Very interesting, I never had anything like this before.

Draft pour at Special Brews. Pours a slightly cloudy yellowish color with a patchy head. Fresh hops aroma. Citrus hops flavor up front. Definitely a one sided IPA, but a great hops flavor do all is good. Finishes with a lemon, citrus, slightly bitter flavor. Good stuff.
