This winter, IBUs start accumulating like snow in Colorado with our new Accumulation White IPA . Brewing a white IPA was not only a way to salute the white beauty falling from the sky, but a direct revolt to the longstanding tradition of brewing dark beers for winter and winter seasonal beers. At least that’s what our rebellious brewer Grady Hull likes to claim as he shovels in plenty of new hop varietals and a bit of wheat for a smooth mouthfeel. Stack up a few cases of Accumulation White IPA to keep your long nights glowing blizzard white.

Admin Note: Brewed until 2021. Recipe changed to a hazy IPA in 2022.

Location: Draft at Ginger Man - Houston, 1/13/14

Aroma: The nose has some fruity hops (grapefruit, citrus, etc.), and some sweet malts
Appearance: It pours a hazed orange-amber color with a small head on it
Flavor: The flavor is citrus/tropical fruits, some sweet malts, and hop bitterness
Palate: The body is light, leaning medium, with a fairly clean feel, and a dryish finish
Overall Impression: I thought this one was pretty solid. I certainly enjoyed drinking it, and I could see it being something I'd order again.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Pours a slightly hazy yellow color with a medium sized frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of grainy malts, doughy notes, herbal hops and nutty notes. The taste is pale malts, herbal hops and mild fruitiness. Medium bodied, fairly raw feeling overall. Strong carbonation. Interesting.

Draft. A- Citrus, hops, herbs, grassy. A- Yellow color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Citrus, slightly bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- The citrus tones are about perfect and the bitterness is just right. This is unbelievably smooth and drinkable.

Draft. From notes. Not bad. A bit of clove and wheat along with some citrus. Better than the last few seasonals from them.

On tap at New Belgium Hub at DEN. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a small white head that hangs around. Nose is light malts and pine and cittus. Bitter grapfruit through the short dry finish. Notes of orange and tangerine. Mouth is quite light with active carbonation. This a little delicate for an IPA but an interesting combination.
