Our Roustabout Oatmeal Milk Stout pours a beautiful, creamy black with a thick tan head that lasts in the glass, with an aroma filled with toasty malts and milk chocolate character. The body is beautifully smooth and rich, with very little bitterness and a subtle sweetness from milk sugar. The flavor is dominated by chocolate and coffee notes. The beer finishes smooth, sweet, and satisfying.

Can. Lactic acid, chocolate malt, and hay aroma. Black with moderate brown head. Mildly sweet chocolate malt, moderately sour lactic acid, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Okay body. Tangy finish.

12oz can brought to me by a co-worker. Poured a clear black color with a small tan head. Aroma was some light roasted malt notes, very light bitter coffee, but not really all that coffee. Light bitter roasted notes, light toasted and roasted character.

12 ounce can into pint glass, purchased at the brewery on 11/13/2015. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduce to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big chocolate, cocoa, cream, toasted oats, dark bread, raisin, plum, light coffee, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big chocolate, cocoa, cream, toasted oats, dark bread, raisin, plum, light coffee, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-medium herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, cream, toasted oats, dark bread, raisin, plum, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Some light roasted dryness as well. Light-medium carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouhfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice oatmeal milk stout style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
