Damm’s first Märzenbier was created in 1953. In the early years, it was only brewed between October and April and wasn’t made for the rest of the year. In 1955, as it had become a great success, it was decided to brew the Märzenbier all year round. It was given the name Voll-Damm. “Voll” in German means full, complete. The name suited a strong, intense and full-bodied beer. During cooking we add Nugget, Magnum and Taurus variety hops, which are responsible for the characteristic bitterness of Voll-Damm.

Bottle shared. Clear golden with white head. Sweet malts, bready, light paper, grassy, marzipan, orange peel. Solid medium sweet but also nice long lasting bitter finish. Medium bodied. Actually quite OK.

clear amber colour, medium sized, creamy ecru head; aroma of grains, slight grape and floral notes; taste of malty and honey sweetness - and basically that's it -will not be my favourite...

Clear deep gold, creamy ivory head. Rich clean slighlty sugary pale malts, light winy/pomace notes, a hint of booze. Rally clean malty sting lager profile, moderate bitterness and a touch of warming alcohol. Really nice and clean.

Bottle. Deep golden color. Bready, floral, slightly oily aroma. Malty sweet, perfumed floral flavor. Grapes, apple. Too perfumed to be enjoyable.

Sample from bottle at bar in Guils, Catalonia. It was an unpleasant mix of sweet malts and heavy metallic elements.
