Damm’s first Märzenbier was created in 1953. In the early years, it was only brewed between October and April and wasn’t made for the rest of the year. In 1955, as it had become a great success, it was decided to brew the Märzenbier all year round. It was given the name Voll-Damm. “Voll” in German means full, complete. The name suited a strong, intense and full-bodied beer. During cooking we add Nugget, Magnum and Taurus variety hops, which are responsible for the characteristic bitterness of Voll-Damm.

Color ámbar cobrizo, espuma blanca algo cremosa medianamente retenida. Aroma a malta y ligero alcohol.

Enjoyed straight from the bottle. Light to medium sweet and bitter. Caramel, bread, nuts, noble hop. Pleasant hoppy ending. Dense body. Absolutely OK.

Can at the hotel in Barcelona - picked up from a supermarket in Empuries. Pours clear honey-gold with a small, creamy white head. Sweet, some lightly toasted grains, nips of caramel, bitter grass and grain husk. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly warming. Alright.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 03.02.2023, from Alko, 20220528) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, sweetness and mildly alcohols. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, metal and bitterness. Aftertaste had malts, metal and bitterness. A sweet brew with unpleasant notes of metal.
