Damm’s first Märzenbier was created in 1953. In the early years, it was only brewed between October and April and wasn’t made for the rest of the year. In 1955, as it had become a great success, it was decided to brew the Märzenbier all year round. It was given the name Voll-Damm. “Voll” in German means full, complete. The name suited a strong, intense and full-bodied beer. During cooking we add Nugget, Magnum and Taurus variety hops, which are responsible for the characteristic bitterness of Voll-Damm.

Sample from can at the holiday villa, Abades, Tenerife. Golden with white head. Sweet malts, barley, bit alcy. Light sweet and light bitter. Medium body, soft carbonation. Not my style but doesn’t seem bad either. --- Beer merged from original tick of Voll-Damm Doble Malta on 09 Jan 2018 at 10:19 - Score: 5

Can: Poured a golden color lager with a small bubbly head with limited retention. Aroma of residual sugar notes and light adjunct is OKish. Taste is mostly dominated by adjunct with residual sugar and light alcohol notes could also be detected. Body is about average with good carbonation. Too much adjunct in this one for my taste buds.

Can. Typical corn and metallic flavours, yet not as strong as others though. Some bitterness, rather sweet. Low carbonation. Some off tastes though, which I fail to describe.
