Keg at 7 West downtown Duluth. Black, large creamy brown head, good retention. Aroma of strong smoke, roast, oats, ham. Taste is smoke, roast, leafy notes. Thin, mild bitterness. Nice.

Sampler from the tap at the brewery. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice smoke note with some dark grains and a nice supporting roasted malt note. Flavor has a nice combination of roasted malts and smoke with a dark grain backbone.

Draft at Woodgrain. Opaque brown, beige head. Nice aroma of chocolate syrup. Taste is sweet chocolate and coffee. Tasty.

Tap at Hammerheart. dry for a stout. Black, low carbonation. It does remind me of a dry stout. Some light coffee notes with roasted grain. The smoke is thee, but it is mild.
