Can. A- Roasty, chocolate, slightly watery. A- Black color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Tobacco, roasty, char, mild bitterness, subtle cream, slightly watery. P- Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, balanced. O- Seems as those the Nebraska "locals" find this pretty average while the outlier raters find this moderately tasty. I have to say, I lean towards the local crowd. It was okay, pretty typical porter. A bit thin in spots and quite roasty.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours slightly hazy very dark reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, nuttiness, dark/brown bread, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, herbal, wood, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, nuttiness, dark/brown bread, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, herbal, wood, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char and herbal/woody/peppery hop bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, nuttiness, dark/brown bread, toasted biscuit, smoke, char, herbal, wood, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance, and zero acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.5%. Overall this is a delicious American porter. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Really nice richness of English dark/brown/roast malt complexity, with nice hop presence and balance without being overpowering. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
