Schooner on tap at Szimpla near Auckland Airport. With ice (not requested). Nose is stewed apples. A touch savoury. Amber cider with the odd bubble ascending. Some lacing. Semi sweet apple taste. Finish is lingering and tart. Not bad.

Tap at Verona. Clear golden with lasting but small fizzy white head. Dry apple, tart apple, soft pear, light lime, green apples, light sour peach. Medium sour and just medium sweet. Under medium bodied with sparkly carbonation.

Slightly golden, earthy nose, clean, sweetish and very appley, some tartness late. As with the perry, this is pretty close to mainstream.
