355mL can, pours black with a medium brown head. Aroma is full of cinnamon and chilis upfront, followed by cocoa, and some subdued barrel notes. Flavour is rich, with lots of chocolate and cinnamon upfront, light vanilla, fairly gentle chilis, and some bourbon in back. Pretty nice addition of adjuncts. The copious adjunct bill hides some of the harshness in the barrel that was dominant in the 2025 version of Catching Moonlight and, to a lesser extent, Lights Out. The palate is a bit sludgy though and could use refinement—this kind of beer benefits from an oilier, silkier palate, which this is far from. All in all, very enjoyable, but not near the peak of past incarnations of this beer.
