(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 26 Aug 2018) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, liquorice, dark chocolate and hints of blueberries. Malty, roasted taste with dark chocolate, coffee, blueberries and a balanced cacao bitterness. Almost full body, with a velvety mouthfeel. Slight sweetness. Really tasty and well balanced. Very nice.

Clear, dark brown to black colored, strong off white to beige soapy head. Aroma is malty, caramel, chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, brown sugar. Taste is medium+ sweet malt, brown sugar, some caramel, chocolate and coffee, some dark fruit, medium roasty bitterness, dry finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, oily. Nothing special... (bottle)

La voix de notre loup ne porte pas très loin...Cet Imperial Porter est globalement décevant avec un manque de complexité et un début de dégustation très pâlichon....En verre nous sommes sur un noir total (EBC de 95) sans aucune mousse et une effervescence quasi au point mort (je me demande si mon exemplaire n'avait pas un souci de ce côté-là). Le nez est plutôt appréciable, café, chocolat et caramel. Simple mais efficace. L'attaque est très peu développée aromatiquement. Peu intéressante elle présente de petites touches de caramel et chocolat. La deuxième monte très peu d'intensité, avec une petite pointe de café supplémentaire. L'arrière bouche est plus intéressante toutefois, sur une ampleur honorable et des arômes de café et chocolat. A compter de la troisième bouche les arômes montent d'intensité et d'ampleur, sur une bonne amertume (40 d'IBU) et des arômes de café qui prennent l'ascendant. La longueur est acceptable mais le manque de variation est patent. L'équilibre global alcool/amertume/sucre est cependant pas mauvais. Nous avons plutôt à faire à un yorkshire qu'à un loup...

Bottled 330ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Black coloured, medium sized pale beige head, roasty alcoholic nose. Roasted malt, burnt sugar, caramel, light chocolate and alcohol with subdued notes of dried fruits. Let's say boring one.

330ml bottle. Very dark brown with a big beige/tan head, good retention. Aroma of fruity and roasted malts, liquorice, molasses. Taste is sweet, fruity, roasted malts, liquorice, molassess, finish is slightly harsh. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel, fine carbonation. Solid imperial porter.
