We first brewed Destination IPA to celebrate Andy’s 50th birthday in the summer of 2023 at Elusive. The second batch was brewed at Burning Sky in 2024 and last year we brewed V3 here under the arches at The Kernel.
This year we’ve each made a version of Destination IPA at our respective breweries, all at different percentages. Burning Sky made a Session IPA at 4%, we made a 6% IPA at The Kernel and Elusive made an 8% DIPA.
Collaboration with Elusive and Burning Sky
Malt: Low Colour Maris Otter, Carapils
Hops: Centennial, Chinook, Citra, HBC 522
Yeast: House Cal Ale Yeast
Destination IPA V4 - The Kernel Version, 6% is hopped with Centennial, Chinook, Citra and HBC 522 and follows Andy’s (Elusive) idea of what a West Coast IPA should be, which is a pale, lighter, more bitter India Pale Ale than our regular core IPA.

Keg at Spa Rd. Hazy-opaque gold. Foamy white head. Aroma has sweet citrus with some malts. Flavourwise it has bitterness and sour edge but does not push it. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Nice.

On tap at The Muted Horn, Saturday 24th January 2026 in the company of Nick, Anna, Charlie, Sarah, Ryan and Honey. Pours hazy light gold with a mid sized white head. Fruity and with a bit more depth than the Kernel Pale ale that just had. A little pineapple, zippy fruitiness, light tangy. Good. 7.0
