The third season making our Pilsner-Perry hybrid with the legendary maker Tom Oliver. On his farm in Ocle Pychard he makes cider and perry in small batches, using fresh pressed cider apples and perry pears, spontaneously fermented by wild yeasts.

Nachmelená Hruška was made by co-fermenting Herefordshire perry pears (2024 harvest) and wort made in the style of a Czech světlý ležák (light lager), using Czech grown barley and, for this third edition, US Centennial hops. The resulting beer conditioned in bottle for 8 months before release.

Named by Tom's Czech right-hand man Jarek, "Nachmelená Hruška" translates as "hopped- or drunk- pear." The resulting blend is suprisingly creamy, with a delicate balance between pear sweetness and snappy hopping.

Bottle via the online shop. Soft haze on a straw gold. Solid lasting white foam. Nose has pears hops and lager yeast. Which is a bullshit description but that’s it. Who would think it. Taste has fleeting sweetness but is mostly dry with some twang of hop bitterness. Super clean overall with brisk foamy carbonation. Light fruity twang to finish. Simple and delicious.
