Mr. Fezziwig is one of Charles Dickens' most brilliantly drawn social commentaries, created for his masterpiece; A Christmas Carol. As the world entered a period of economic instability as the industrial revolution changed the way manufacturing and commerce worked, many small businesses either went under or were consumed by larger entities that owned the machinery and factories necessary to compete. Mr. Fezziwig was Dickens' commentary on this dillema, standing in stark contrast to the cynical and unfeeling capitalism of Scrooge. Fezziwig was a jolly, community-oriented fellow, with what you could call a "full body" and a cheery disposition, who believed in small business being about more than just profits. We couldn't agree more.
We've created a Belgian Plum Stout which shares many of its namesake's characteristics. At 7% ABV, this is not a huge stout, but it has enough body to carry the deeply delicious dark plum notes. Brewed with 100% real fruit and no extract.
The Belgian yeast is prominent but not overpowering in the aroma and yields the flavour to the malts and fruits while adding just a little spice. There is still a nice hop presence throughout but no bitterness or sharpness, just warm, fuzzy, winter feelings. If you like Christmas flavours but don't want an aggressively spicy winter warmer, we think this will be just the beer for you!

Thin but reasonably clean. The ginger is a bit pokey, but overall drinkable. Winstons sk
