25cl pour at Threes pours a murky black with some cloudy, off white head. Nose is mostly just regular black duck, toast, malt, molasses, some brown sugar, a little raisin/dried cherry lurking in the background. Flavor follows right along, chewy grains, sweet brown sugar, a little stale coffee, some raisin, just a splash of red wine vinegar, some soured cola, cherry. Dry finish, very drinkable. Not sure how much of the brett comes through, but the base beer is always nice and if this adds a little cherry character (Brett C anyone?) then so be it.

Draft courtesy of jredmond, thanks! Dark brown color, big beige head. Nice roasty aroma. Taste is freshly baked brownies. Delicious.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is funkyness mixed with roastiness and I can’t really explain it much better than that. Taste hits you with a sour funky note at first. It is not really sour or funky, but is enough I would reckon. Then there is a distinct roasty coffee note. Then the two combine in a weird bretty porter taste. I suppose this is what happens when you combine the two styles.
