Clear golden coloured body with a faint orange glow and a nice creamy, two centimetre tall tan and off-white head. Aroma of pure biscuits, grain, lager yeast, light earth, flowers and a good deal of European hops with some alcohol noticeable, too. Light-bodied; Strong malt flavour at first from the biscuits and grain with a deep yeast and herbal bite soon afterwards and a hint of sugars taht cut through the moderate astringency from the alcohol. Aftertaste shows some of the grassy and herbal flavours at first with some hop bitterness noticeable, a little biting malt and alcohol, but a fairly smooth and well-balanced, biscuity and almost even a little nuttiness of the malt towards the end - fairly easy-drinking, yet full of flavour, especially for the style and a 'simple' lager. Overall, very nice to try, even though the takeover from A-B has seemed to make their beers worse, this one was respectable. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Harris Teeter in Arlington (Pentagon Row), Virginia on 02-November-2019 for US$1,87 sampled at my house here in Washington on 10-November-2019.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear golden color with a large frothy head. Decent head retention and lacing. Fruity aroma with notes of green apple and caramel along with an herbal, spicy hop finish. Taste is spicy, peppery hops along with notes of apple, grain, caramel, peach and other light fruit notes. Light bodied and freshing. Nice beer.
