In March 2024, our friends from Amundsen Brewery joined us from Oslo for a collaboration, and it was clear from the start that this would be a big one. We decided on a double-mash Imperial Stout, destined for aging in ex-bourbon barrels. Over the course of eighteen months, the beer rested and evolved, developing depth and character before receiving a final touch of tonka, coconut, and cacao nibs. Best enjoyed at a serving temperature of 12–14°C.

Bottle, three years before bbd. Pours black, with a short lived creamy mocha head. Aroma is dark roasted malts with syrupy bread, tonka beans, demara sugar, liquorice and coconut, as well as bourbon barrels. Smooth creamy body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is roasted malts with bread, cocoa, muscovado and liquorice, as well as notes of tonka, coconut, tannins and bourbon barrels. Lingering sweet malty notes in the finish.

Black with a brown head - Dark malt aroma - Dark malt body with wood barrel flavours and some vanilla as well - Dark malt flavours and wood barrel goes into the finish - This was real good

Thick and heavy aroma, dark chocolate, roasted malts, dark chocolate cake, tonga beans, phenolic alc. hit, booze lagered in steel tanks, sniffing this when you have a cold, will probably kill the cold, not the aroma. faint vanilla. faint fresh coconut juice.

Flavor is really good, clearly better than aroma. salt licorice, roasted malts, dark chocolate cake, do i get a faint hint of bourbon? , alc is not very well sensed except the beer feels like it packs a punch, very solid, full bodied and fairly layered and complex. the bourbon is blended so well in, that it's not the first i notice, but it does its wonders anyway.
