Pretty close to black color, tan head. Aroma of grapefruit and pine. The roast comes in at the taste, along with light citrus and piney bitterness. Very tasty.

Bottle. Pours black with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of light pine, a bit of grass and some dark grains nd bread notes. Flavor has a bit of chalky dark grains with a light roast and a good amount of grass and pine.

22 oz bottle purchased at Beer Crazy in Urbandale, Iowa. The pour is opaque black dark chestnut brown with a smallish light tan head. The aroma is pine hop, black licorice patent malt and a alcohol heat. The taste is the malt black licorice right away, sharp, then bright pine, bit of a roast and then finishes with a decent blast of heat in the dry finish. Came together some as it warmed. The palate is medium to light bodied, fine carbonation and the hot dry finish. Just OK.
