The Bourbon Maple Incabes Gueuze is based on lambic matured in a bourbon maple barrel, followed by maceration with physalis berries. The barrel was originally a former bourbon barrel shipped from the US to Canada, where it was then treated three times with maple syrup. From Canada, it was transported to Belgium, where it was filled with a blend of various lambics. After barrel aging, a complex lambic was achieved by maturing in a single barrel and by using older lambics aged 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 years from various lambic breweries in the Senne Valley. This results in a complex and acidic gueuze.

Doesn't have a great appearance - a murky amber. Pretty nice gueuze character, with some sugars in the finish, quite leathery. There's some berry on the nose, but less so on the palate. Decent tartness, though.

750mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a quickly-dissipating white head. Aroma has quite a thorny berry character, with wonderful barnyard funk, gentle maple, hay, moderate acidity, and tart berry. Really cohesive; wonderful incorporation of the berries. Everything comes together. Excellent.

Poured from 750mL bottle (bb 31/12/2029). Hazed gold with very quickly dissipating white head. Slightly acetic with feint gooseberries, hint of funk and maple. Okay.
