Organic Baltic Porter from Skanderborg Bryghus is an authentic 7.0% Baltic Porter of full character and refined taste, with a subtle sweetness, but also with a sharp edge that is nicely balanced with dry, heavy roastiness and coziness in the dark winter afternoons.
A fabulously full, soft, and aromatic blend with notes of English licorice, coffee, and chocolate. The aftertaste is pure joy and warmth for the next sip!

In the 18th century, strong English brewers began exporting to the countries around the Baltic Sea. The style was named Østersøen (Baltic Sea). Due to the variant of porter, there were both light alcohol-free and stronger porters. It became very popular, and local breweries started producing their own versions. To avoid spoiling during the long journey across the Baltic Sea, the locals began brewing the style at their own breweries with bottom fermentation, making the beer more stable and fresh. Some call it the sweet big brother of the traditional porters.
