Clear copper and dark golden coloured body with a decent three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of pure malt, a touch of grain and earth with some mustier elements and a bit of light sugar at the very end. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong rich malt flavours with earth, toffee, grain and a bit of funk noticeable coupled with some grass and hay, mushrooms and a bit more sugar at the end. Aftertaste is slightly dry with the malt the only real flavour showing through with a rather earthy and grainy flavour. Overall, a decent beer at best - not great for the style or in general, but at least it’s something different to sample and not the same IPA. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church, Virginia on 04-March-2016 for US$1,75 sampled at home in Washington on 29-August-2016.

Growler from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA, filled 10/7/10 and opened about 20 minutes later. Not much to look at... pours a murky brown-orange with a thin offwhite frothy head that fades quickly and completely. Aroma of caramel, leafy hops, faint nuts and apple-like fruity notes. The taste is toffee, caramel, bitter hops, citrus and apple. There is a mild but lingering bitterness. Medium bodied. Low carbonation. Pretty nice beer.
