One of Germany’s quintessential beverages, now in Chicagoland. Utilizing old world decoction mashing techniques for a truly sweet malt character. This gentle drink also features a straw-colored clarity that’s clearly heavenly!

Sample at the taproom. Clear pale golden color with a medium thin white head that evaporates quickly to a wispy film. Spotty lace. Grassy hops, fruit and malt in the nose. Light to medium body with flavors of fruity yeast, mild grassy hops and grainy malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Can sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks David Cohen. Golden. Lots of acetaldehyde, sweetish, paper, slightly bitterish finish, light-bodied. Not so good.

Pour is a clear gold with a large white head. Aroma is a big malt with some sweetness and a bit of plastic. Flavor is a nice rich malt. Very clean with some grain and grassy hops. I don’t get any of the plastic in the flavor like I got in the aroma. Very true to style with a nice malt profile

12oz bottle. Hazy yellow-orange body. Fast rising active carbonation bubbles rise to meet a steady, foamy, white head. A little off for the style. Has some mild doughy, earthy aroma notes you might expect from a Pils. No lagerign tones whatsoever. High temperature oddness. Overcarbonated. Some awkward off undertones. Pretty sub par product.

Taster at the Blarney Stone’s Solstice Fest, Oak Forest. Clear golden lager color, a thin ring of foam in a much used plastic taster cup. Light malt smell with a note of yeast. Malt becomes pretty prominent in the taste. Definitely in the Dortmunder category. Then a little sweetness kicks in to remind us that it is a lager without the water profile of a pilsener. But yes, enjoyably malty.
