Oak Barrel-Aged Sour Ale with Nectarine and Peach
Maddie Had a Little Duck is a blend of our barrel-aged saison, Madeline, and The Lost Abbey’s legendary Duck Duck Gooze. Refermented on 600 pounds of organic Spring Brite nectarines from Blossom Bluff Orchards and 500 pounds of organic peaches, this beer bursts with vibrant stone fruit character atop a foundation of oak-aged complexity. Finished with natural bottle conditioning, it’s a bright, elegant expression of collaboration and craft.

On tap at Pure Project - Miramar, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma has soft, fuzzy stone fruits, a touch of oak, and gentle bugs—though a bit jumbled. Flavour is quite tart, with plenty of sour, juicy peaches and nectarines, light bugs, and some oak. Definitely nowhere close to the complexity of Duck Duck Gooze, but the stone fruits add a nice dimension. Solid stuff.
