Baltic Porter Day 2026 is a special imperial Baltic porter brewed by the Estonian brewery Põhjala to honour the international Baltic Porter Day celebration. This edition is crafted with a deep, robust dark malt base and traditional bottom fermentation, giving the beer its signature richness and smooth intensity. For 2026, Põhjala added aromatic pandan leaves, introducing a soft, exotic layer reminiscent of vanilla and herbal sweetness.
The aroma and flavour deliver a complex blend of roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, dark caramel and subtle bread-crust notes typical of the Baltic porter style. The pandan contributes a delicate sweetness that rounds out the beer and adds an unexpected modern twist. The finish is long, smooth and gently warming, making this release a standout choice for fans of refined, dark and full-bodied beers.

(Keg at Põhja Konn, 20260217) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, chocolate, liquorice and lightly ash. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, dark chocolate, dark fruits, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, ash and bitterness. A tasty burnt brew that hid its ABV very well.

Bottle at Monk's: pours black with a small head. Aroma is hefty coffee notes, molasses, dark chocolate. Taste is on the drier side even though this has relatively high boost. Nice mellow aftertaste. Solid.

33cl bottle from Coop, Tallinn. Pours close to pitch black with a modest sized, beige head. Roasty aroma with dark chocolate, dark fruits, bready notes and hints of coffee, spices and sweet licorice. Sweet and roasty with a modest bitterness. Smooth, easy to drink and quite enjoyable.
