Our multi-award-winning American Red Ale is back and this time it's here to stay! Yes, we've stopped tinkering with different hop combinations (level) and settled on the one which won three SIBA awards this year and was a national category finalist in Champion Winter Beer of Britain. Six different malts interplay wonderfully with Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops for a beer that delivers supreme balance, satisfying both lovers of malt and the hop heads!

Slightly hazy red amber with a frothy white head. Sweet malt and pine aroma, light bodied, soft toffee malt, piney notes, slightly tart bitterness and a dry bittersweet finish.

440ml can. Pours a slightly hazy, deep red with a beige head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, citrusy and piney hops. Taste is the same, hops more prominent here with citrusy orange/grapefruit and piney flavours, caramel/toffee malt base, marmalade, moderate bitterness. Medium bodied. It's quite a hoppy red ale so can't help compare to their Red IPAs which I think are better, generally.

Tap at Kernel, 12th December 2025. Pours the normal reddish brown, aroma is car all and malty, with hops. Taste is nice, but I prefer other hop combinations that I’ve had, shame they landed on this --- Beer aliased from original tick of Level Up: Level 33: Citra, Centennial & Simcoe on 15 Mar 2025 at 12:07 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 9 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Keg at The Kernel. Opaque chestnut brown. Foamy off-white head. Aroma has sour rye and loght caramel and fruit. Flavourwise it has sour rye and berries with a light grainy edge. Underlying malts. Light-medium bodied. Flat-soft carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Nice but puls it's punches.

Keg at Mother Arch iii, 10/12/2025
Reddish amber with an off white cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is caramel, biscuit malts, candied fruit rinds.
Taste comprises toffee, biscuit, candied orange peel, bitter tropical tones.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with earthy come leafy hop bitterness.
Tidy for the style.

Quite hoppy for a red ale. Thinner malt body, very drinkable.

Can from Against The Grain. Hazy ruby body with a few flecks floating beneath a beige head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of toffee and glazed cherry. Flavour of pine and strawberry. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Sweet and hoppy at the same time, delicious!

Cask at The Green Goddess, Blackheath Royal Standard. Aromas of toffee apple, sweet spice, orange marmalade. Orange marmalade & sweet spice flavours with a nice light bitter backbone. Good stuff.
