Crisp, pale golden coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall pale white head. Aroma of wheat, light metal and malt, coriander seed, sugars and a touch of curacao and full oranges. Light-bodied; Assertive spicey yeast qualities at first with a deep pungent malt and wheat note followed by a touch of bitter and noticeable spices. Aftertaste shows a light sweetness, some citrus and orange flavours and a touch of deep malt, but still on the lighter side in terms of body. Overall, a decent beer with a big flavour but a small feeling (low abv, etc) and an easy-to-approach style and quality. That said, this wasn’t a good ’blonde’ as they would call it in Belgium compared to others from the country or just in the style overall, but not a bad offering. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Crystal City Wine Shop in Arlington, Virginia on 01-April-2015 for US$2,49 sampled just a few steps away, on 06-August-2015 just after the first Republic Primary Debate took place in Cleveland, the hometown of said beer.

Bottle courtesy of Travis at Mac’s in Fayetteville, thank you sir! Hazy to cloudy yellow color. Aroma of light spice on a banana background. Taste has banana, citrus, raw bread. Decent.

Tap at Sidedoor. Slightly hazy orange-tan body. Creamy, steady, white head. Pleasantly sweet belgo yeast aroma. A pretty tasty Belgian golden ale, or maybe a Singel. Clean, fresh, quite an enjoyable offering. Still has a lot of yeast flavor, fruitiness, dry earthiness. Not as unruly as most of its US peers. Well done.

Candied apricots, shitty hay, coriander nose. Clear golden, medium sticky head. Lightly sweet hay, lemon, aspartame finish. Light to medium body, easy carbonation. Easily sessionable blond, pils malt evident.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 7/15/2015. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, pear, apple, light banana/bubblegum, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big lemon, pear, apple, light banana/bubblegum, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of herbal bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, light banana/bubblegum, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice robustness and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately sticky, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a very nice Belgian pale ale. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

12 ounce bottle. Hazy yellow gold color. Small bubbly white head. Yeasty, sulphury lemon malt nose. Flavor is more of the same with dryish notes as well. There are hins of wheat malt, lemon peel and white peppercorns. Spicy dry finish.
