From notes. Bottled. Dark maroon color, tan head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Taste has cocoa, espresso, dry finish. OK.

Draft. A dark brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has strong notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt, leading to a dry and bitter finish.

Bottle. Black with a light tan head that’s big in a pint glass then fades but never disappears. Aroma has nuts, chocolate, grass and a little smoke. Taste has discreet roasted barley, chocolate. Slight coffee astringency. Balanced and mouthfilling. Dry roasted finish is rather short. Not a special beer, but another NZ beer that does everyday really well.

Pours black with a light tan small head.Nose shows milk chocolate, nutty notes and roasted malt. Quite pleasant.Very similar flavours, with a lot more roasted character. Somewhat smoky. A bit rough around the edges.Body is quite thick, carbonation a little high.
