I was definitely too kind with this one when I first rated it. I would probably give it around a "3" right now. Cloudy gold pour. Tastes of lemongrass and hops. Rated 5/20/06

Bottle from ericandersnavy. Pours hazy dark gold with a decent white head. Strong citrus type aroma. Near medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor goes from herby/grassy to citrus to fruit candy to bitter. Quite an effect. Finishes more herby/grassy/bitter than anything else. Rather astringent. Pretty good beer, but not a great beer.

On tap. Magic Hat calls this a hefeweizen, however this should not be confused with any good hefeweizen. The taste is completely dominated by lemongrass, has some american wheat taste, with a hint of sour yeast. This lemongrass does produce a nice aroma and the beer does look good, but the taste does nothing for me and I am not interested in having this beer again.

Draught at Pony Bar, New York
Hazy blond color. Served too cold; it has light aroma and light flavor; very light wheat character, instead there is a spicy side, peppery, and light lemon. Simple.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a average white head. Aroma is lemon with some soap and a bit of paper. Flavor is lots of cardboard and soapyness. The aroma and flavor reminded me of lemon scented joy. Not that ever drank dish washing soap but this would be a very close cousin. That said this was horrible.

Bottle. Poured a clear gold with an off-white head. Aroma was full of banana and yeast flavors with a bit of lemon bitterness. Flavor began sweet with banana and grain notes but finished with a lemony bitterness. A bit odd.

(Draught) Poured golden and hazy with medium sized and white head. Aroma contained lightly banana and some fruitiness. Palate was light bodied with medium carbonation. Tasted of fruitiness, banana, malts, lightly sweet and also lightly bitter. Fruity aftertaste.

Cloudy yellow. Low carbonation. Aroma has yeast, and the lemongrass is there. A mild citrus bite in the flavor. Some banana. Sweet wheat finish.

Bottle marked as best before December 2009. Pours with a hazy golden body and a medium sized white head. Aroma of citrus, Thai lemongrass, wheat, plastic, and shampoo. Taste is thin with wheat, citrus, lemon grass and shampoo. Slightly chemically. Fizzy, thin and dry mouthfeel.

12 oz. bottle in hefeweizen glass. "Best by 6/09." Pours nice hazy yellow hefeweizen color, though head is big but too spongy for style. Slight lemongrass smell and just a bit of hefe esters. Lemon becomes more pronounced as I start to drink it, Now maybe this bottle is a bit old, ut it just seems to be a weak bottle version of a hefe that would be much better on tap. Last few drops in the bottle carried some trub flavor, though.
