Of the people, By the people, For the people! Our nod to some of the most scholarly politicians that walked Virginia, and also to the great lives that were lost during the War Between the States. Although President Lincoln left his mark on this nation forever in Gettysburg, PA by giving his view of government as being one Of the People, For the People and By the People, this political philosophy was referenced by Madison in our Federalist Papers and by Jefferson in his writings. This lager is brewed with the people in mind and meant for all of us. Leave your Mark! This all American lager is a light, crisp refreshing beer that is single-hopped with Sterling hops.

I bought this because it was highly ranked [only]. Crystal clear coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall off-white head, a bit tan and quite soapy throughout. Aroma of grass, hay, light metal, some funk and cardboardie malt and a dash of peppery hops on the end. Light-bodied; Very strong pungent lager yeast flavours up front with biscuits, crackers and grain very strong with some light lemons and pungent grass throughout that leaves this quite astringent on the end. Aftertaste is very deep and bitter - mainly from the grassy malts and the lager yeast - these are very strong and don't go away at all. Overall, a fairly strong pilsener that is very typical for an American beer, just sadly, from Macro-producers; This doesn't taste like a craft beer at all - it could be from SABMiller or In-Bev and you wouldn't even know at all. This one definitely isn't worth trying at all, especially as one that is somehow deemed to be 'respectable' by others. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 23-August-2019 for US$2,49 sampled very fresh on 02-September-2019 at home in Washington.

Pint pour at Brine - Mosaic. Poured a crystal clear yellow color, light carbonation, not a lot of head, but still a bit vigorous. Aroma was nice hoppy, with some light lager notes. Earthy hops, light lager notes. Pretty tasty.

Draft at Know Good Beer Festival, Charlottesville, 5/3/14. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium sized frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of pale bready, doughy malts, snappy grassy and citrus hops. The taste is doughy malt, spicy, herbal hops.. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness, refreshing, well balanced. Very nice beer.
