720 ml bottle from Furusato. Clear and slightly oily. Nose is rich rice, vanilla and caramel and rice pudding notes, grains. Old school and very interesting. Lightly acidic, so I guess this is kimoto or yamahai although they do not advertize it as such. Flavor is rich rice, quite sweet but also quite acidic. Vanilla and caramel notes, grainy. Wow, interesting stuff. This was one of the first junmai after the category ws made, from the early 1960s, and it feels much older then that! Unrefined, sweet and acid both, rich and heavy, a classic junmai that is much more interesting for historical reasons than it is great, but worth a try.
