This beer is one of many that takes its inspiration from the rich tradition of spirits. In this case, the inspired cocktail Nightbell led us to brew a Mezcal ale with smoked malts, lime juice, and grapefruit zest. From this brew, Nightbell has crafted and is serving a Cardinal Gin based "Wicked Gimlet" with the addition of a Conquistador simple syrup.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey for the Wicked Weed DC Debut event. Poured a hazy yellow color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light smoke notes, some citrus. Light gin, juniper. Interesting.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey for the Wicked Weed DC Debut event. Yellow with off-white head. Aromas and tastes of big smoke, citrus, spices. Medium body with a dry finish. Lots of smoke.

Lots of smoke in this. Probably too much. Pours golden with OK head. Bittersweet smoke finish. Light floral. Tap at Churchkey event.

Draft. Crystal clear bright gold, fluffy white head. Aroma of gin. Taste of juniper. Interesting, but not my cup of tea.
