650 ml bottle. 2012 port barrel aged. Bottle 1806 of 2136! Pours an orange copper color with full foamy head and lots of carbonation. Aromas of toffee, toasted malts, and a little dill. Flavors of pineapple, grass, dill, dried honeycomb, and toasted malts. Quite an unusual combo but quite interesting. A little hot - expect it will improve with age. Nice. BTW - I still don’t get the wax seal but thanks to the brewer who put on something that is easily peeled off.

Courtesy of Ferris, bottle 1926 of 2136, port barrel aged
Cloudy light amber color with small head. Strange aroma: malt, caramel, sourness, puke, some metal, light wood, dust. Moderate sweetness, some caramel flavor, puke, some vegetables; ordinary bitterness, with some hop resins; if there is Port barrel aging, it’s just adding chaos.
Kind of a mess.

Port barrel bw, peach red and hazy. Has a nice hop character. Herbal, light bitterness, fresh and it has a balanced character.

Bottle - Vintage 2012 - Oak and happy notes, with a bit of herbal sweetness. Cloudy orang with a decent white head. Vinous and a bit of tartness, very dry with an oaky finish. Oaky fruit from the Port Barrel which doesn’t work with the wheat in my opinion.

Poured from 1 pint 6 fl oz bottle (2012). Light amber brown with off-white head. Aroma of toasted bread malt and nuts. Flavour same, subdued, some citrusy wheat hidden in there with a little port on the finish. Medium body. Doesn’t particularly seem like a good representation of a barley wine.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a mostly clear copper color with a small white head. A big sweet barrel nose, vinous, some toffee, brown sugar. The flavor is similar with a pretty sweet barley wine base, toffee, burnt caramel, the barrel treatment is very big, sugary, slight tropical notes. Woody. Very dry palate. Hot. Good.
