Spruce Tip Dark Ale
Cobequid Hills was made while thinking of a winter walk in the woods. It showcases fresh growth spruce tips foraged locally by North Nova Forest Management Co-Op whose program plants and grows trees in our local forests, protecting the quality of the Tatamagouche watershed and in turn, the quality of our beer.
These spruce tips meld nicely with classic hop notes of pine and citrus, while adding their own layers of fresh spruce, citrus, and berries. Underneath the aromatics is a smooth malt base with flavours of chocolate and caramel.
A portion of this beer’s sales price will go towards North Nova’s Silviculture program to plant and release trees around Tatamagouche.

On tap at Stillwell Freehouse. Pours very dark brown with a beige head. Toasted bread crusts and spruce tips on the nose. Flavour has dry toasted malts, bread crusts, and crisp spruce tips. Simple, but does what it does nicely.
