Beneath The Noise by Merit Brewing Co @meritbrewing in Hamilton ON. Dry Stout. "That's the one thing I hate: all the noise, noise, noise, noise!"

Now before I start sounding too Grinch-like, I will say that I love Christmas! And, I'm loving this beer! It's a really well-crafted stout, smooth and creamy, and filled with tasty notes of chocolate and cold brew coffee. The flavours are so nicely-balanced too, and the sip goes down easy, and lingers with a really pleasant chocolate. I love a stout that's both quality-crafted and easy-drinking, and this one definitely is, and it's totally hitting the spot on this rainy windy Monday afternoon! And it's the Monday between Christmas and New Years in a season that's often filled with noise - both literally and figuratively. And making the best of this time, and maybe keeping sane at the same time, is often about seeing beneath the noise. Kinda like the Grinch finding the true meaning of Christmas lol But really, it can just be about spending quality time (not money) with the people closest to you. And finding some down-time yourself, for reading, or music, or just doing nothing except maybe enjoying a really great beer, like this one!

Taster at the brewery, in Hamilton, ON, Canada. Pours practically black, with limited fine cream foam. Aroma is intense of freshly grained coffee, cigar. Body is fairly thin, with moderate carbonation. Taste is nicely roasty bitter. Final is average.
