Sour Brown Ale Aged in Oak Foeders With Raspberries
There are different tellings of the Legend of the Wild One®, much like the beer that bears its name. Brewed with wild yeast, this sour brown ale is aged in wooden wine foeders for up to eight months, and then aged again with raspberries, giving it an additional layer of tart and fragrant flavors.
A secondary fermentation with raspberries adds distinctive raspberry aroma and flavor and another, subtle layer of tartness.

Huge creamy longlasting head. Aroma is fresh sour-ish fruity, sweet raspberry candy, berry skin, soda powder, grass, raspberry juice, hints of mild vinegar. Taste is dry sour-ish, berry skin, dry raspberries, sorrel, minerals, soda powder, mild vinegar, grass, hay. Medium bitterness, dry acidic mouthfeel. Nice one.

750 ml bottle. Pours a bright reddish color with a small white head. A big woody berry nose. Huge raspberries, sawdust, some tartness but also sweet berry core, sour woody notes. Very smooth really. Smooth, solid. Great natural berries.

On tap at Eccentric. Pour is a deep ruby with no head and aromas of funk and tart fruit. Flavor is funky and tart with raspberry seeds. Yeah... seeds... second sip is better, but there is an odd presence in the finish that is kind of woody/seedy. As it airs and warms a bit the seedy flavor becomes more band aid and I’m thinking this isn’t the best batch of Raspberry Wild One. Hope to have it again some time.

Bottle at share. Amber with some reddish tinge, small airy head. Big berry aroma, with hints of the brett coming through, some funk, some tartness. Tartness moves up front in the taste, with the raspberry coming in next, tart and dry.
