No bristlecones were harmed in the production of this award winning beer. Deep chocolate brown and an amber head, Bristlecone Brown Ale is a seasonal beer and available for a short time. We chose the name as a tribute to the regal Great Basin Bristlecone pine. Among these stately survivors is the 4,765 year-old Methuselah, the oldest living inhabitant of North America. Its exact location is kept secret as an older relative nicknamed “Prometheus” was unfortunately cut down in 1964.
This particular long-living species is typically found in the higher elevations of Nevada, California and Utah’s Wasatch Range. Due to cold temperatures, high winds, and dry soils, these pines grow very slowly.

Bottle. Chocolate malt and hay aroma. Medium brown with large light tan head. Sweet chocolate malt and lightly bitter ash/herbal flavor. Medium body. Very nice session beer.

12 oz bottle, thanks brenn79. Aroma is roasty, brown sugar, nutty, bready. Pours slightly hazy brownish-amber with a collapsing beige head. Taste is sweet and nutty with a bitter hop finish. Mouthfeel is a little watery, which given the low ABV, would make this a great session beer in the summer. Nice brown ale.

Pour is a clear brown with a large tan head. Aroma is a decent enough brown malts. Flavor is decent with a solid malty backbone with follow up flavors of chocolate and a minor coffee. Decent small beer.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-brown color with a medium sized foamy tan head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was bitter and sour caramel, nut, bread and a hint of dark fruits. The flavor was tangy, bitter, nutty and malty with a faint dark fruit presence. Medium length tangy, nutty and fruity finish. Medium body. Ok.

4oz draft pour. This one was a light, semi-clear brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma was caramel notes, some nutty notes, hop notes. Flavor was caramel notes, nutty character, a touch earthy character.

nice dark looking beer from a bottle. darker than most ’brown’ ales. Nice clean aroma and the intial taste is just a tad butter but it is very acceptable. Goes down easy, that 4% really makes this a rather enjoayable session. Friendly easy and mannered. I like this. No ill effects on the finish. Good amount of enjoyable co2. Overall good beer drinking experience. I’m starting to develop a likeing for these uinta brews.

Bottled@Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Ambery brown colour with a small off-white fluffy head that vanishes quite quickly. Aroma is mild nuttyness along with some syrup, mild ripe fruits, floral notes and mild toffee. Flavour is sweet malts, mild nuttyness, some mild toasted and sprucelike grassyness towards the finish. Nice sweet malty body with a quite bitter finish. Some chocolate also in the aftertaste.

Flavor: It tastes less sweet then the nose, more roasty and nutty, with an underlying earthy hop presence
Palate: The body is light-medium, but it fades a touch through the palate, and has a fairly abrupt finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a solid brown. It feels solid, but it doesn't completely hold up as the flavors fade into the middle and end palates. Still though, it is a nice drinker with some good components and an overall good beer.

Draught. Pored brown with thin head. Began with unpleasant machine aroma, then improved to forest leaves and caramel. Malty body but not over sweet. Nice finish.

Maple syrup and pecan nose, bready. Crystal clear brown, thin head. Sweetness is much more subtle on the palate, but it’s not dry. Rather weak, maybe a little nutty. Fizzy. Needs more flavor.
