Brooklyn Dry Stout is a bold, reddish-black Irish-style stout, rich in color but low in alcohol and very drinkable. The dark colors results from brewing with roasted malts, lending Brooklyn Dry Stout a chocolate/coffee-like flavor with a bit of an espresso bite. The finish is dry and crisp and invites another pint.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks zvikar. As Brooklyn Dry Irish Stout. Very dark brown. Aroma of licorice, coffee, a bit of roastiness and nutty notes. Flavor is a bit roasty, coffe-ish, with light acidity and a dry finish. Medium-bodied.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out very dry, lightly roasted malt and toasted bread. Flavour is very dry, with lots of dry bread and a little toasted malt. Very dry and rather lifeless body, finishing a bit metallic and dry bready. Solid attempt at a dry stout, but rather boring overall. Decent.

12 oz. bottle. Black pour, with a medium, tan head. The aroma is light coffee, dark chocolate, molasses, and light smoke and burnt bread. Sweet up front, with some roasted bitterness and spiciness through the finish. Medium to heavy body, acerbic, and biting. Not nearly as watery and light as the ABV would suggest. Much better than a certain other unnamed Irish stout.

Drought. Dark brown color with small beige foamy head, coffee aroma, hint of berries and nuts in taste, low carbonation, abrupt finish. A stout without a long finish for once!

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before June 2013. Pours almost opaque dark brown color with a 1-2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of light milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, dark bread, toast, toffee, and some light and dark fruitiness. Solid and pleasant aromas with good balance; but there is hardly any strength here, very mild. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, light coffee, dark bread, toast, toffee, floral, and light fruitiness. Lingering notes of chocolate, roast, dark bread, light toffee, and light fruitiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice and pleasant balance of dark malt flavors and subtle fruitiness; with zero cloying flavors present on the finish as expected. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a lightly creamy and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a good dry stout. A little mild on flavors; but has good balance and is easy to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.

Bottle, 4.7% ABV. Dark brown with a light tan head that settles to a coat. Earthy aroma with mocha and light roast. Lightish bodied. Dry with roasted and mocha flavours, mostly coffee. Modest bitterness. Entirely pleasant but uneventful. Is what it promises.
