Taster from bottle at Binny’s, Downers Grove. Nice warm, spicy smell, slightly cloudy caramel color. Taste is somewhat fizzy in the style of a warm ferment. A little fruity, and slightly nutty.

2*330 ml bottles bought in a mixpack and shared at tasting. Pours hazy dark amber with a frothy off-white head that slowly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, malty and tiny metallic with plums, raisins, bread, apricots, sweet oranges, caramelized nuts and toffee. Taste is very sweet and fruity with bread, wild strawberries, wood, hazelnuts, toffee and hints of vanilla. Mouthfeel is tiny watery, slightly sticky sweet and light to medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet and very tiny sour with bread, wood, yeasty esters and plums.

bottle, kindly donated by jaghana - merci beaucoup! Hazy amber colour, large and creamy off-white head. Sourish-fruity nose. Full-bodied, lovely malty base with caramel and fruit, balanced by a timid but interesting sourness. Balanced off by some aromatic hops in the finish, the tongue is played with by a miscture of caramel and malty sweetness, fruity sourness and hoppy bitterness. Highly interesting and fascinating.

Color is nice, dark and a little red. Smell and taste are off. Spices in the smell. Taste is a little sour. Not very good in my opinion.

Pretty much like the other Thiriez beers. Living mouthfeel. Decent smell and taste. Bit of a dry finish. I think this is my favorite beer from this brewery. Not great, not bad. Very decent and balanced beer. Not mindblowing in any aspect.
