Undated can drunk 2/27/26.
Not sure what a tavern-style stout is, but whatever, it smells rich and roasty with raisin, vanilla, prune and coffee notes and no harsh/acrid roast character. Good base malt to give some chocolate and caramel-like sweetness and round things out. Fruity yeast with good mineral, on the end, as well.
Chewy oats soften the deep roast. Earthy, crunchy, coffee-like character with slight raisin/prune. Very dry stout-like, and indeed quite dry, but a bit more chew to it; less silkiness and classic roast. Obviously intended as a satisfying, highly drinkable, flavorful, mindless drinker, and they've very much nailed that. That said, I could use just a TOUCH more malt depth. As is, the bitterness/roastiness builds up just a bit more than I'd like on the finish.

On tap at The Beer Junction, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has a moderately roasted malt base, with gentle hoppy bitterness and a hearty oat character. Flavour is much the same, with dry hearty oats, some roast, and a bone dry finish. Not a huge amount of depth but very drinkable and clean. Solid low ABV stout.
