Light brown and clear with a frothy, white head. Aroma promises licorice, anise, and roasted grains. Taste is roasted bitter and perfectly fine up front, but finishes herbal, almost medicinal, with an increasingly pungent dose of anise. Faint warmth at the end, but the alcohol stays decently hidden. Medium bodied, mild carbonation. Odd one. Wouldn’t be my favorite but it has character.
