Tonkoko is our multi-award-winning milk stout, infused with lashings of coconut, vanilla, and South American tonka beans, delivering an indulgent chocolatey character that has become a Brew York classic.
In this bold new edition, we’ve taken inspiration from the comforting richness of a mocha — blending the familiar Tonkoko profile with smooth chocolate and a gentle coffee warmth. The result is a luxuriously velvety milk stout that perfectly balances roasted depth with creamy sweetness.

pours clear dark brown, settles very dark brown with a smooth light brown head.
Aroma is dominated by dark chocolate and tonka beans. also a watery note. not the almost sourish coffeee like note you'd find in a guinness, not much roasted malts either, faint vanilla notes.
flavor is dark chocolate cake (soft) , some roasted malts, dark caramel toffee, the almost sourish roasted malty note you may also find in guinness, lots of dark chocolate, though , is the main ingredient. faint note of coffee, there is a faint hard roasted note, not sure if its more like coffee or more like malts. could be a bit like eating a roasted coffee bean so perhaps more coffee than malts.
aftertaste is pleasantly roasted notes of coffee and malts.
a bit watery feel to it, probably the abv
also a lot of flavor for a 4%ish stout.
the combined feeling is that you get a lot of beer for your abv. and that it's fairly sessionable despite the high content of dessert like flavors.

I'm looking forward to visiting Brew York for more top-notch scoops like this one in March. Not quite black with a small head. A little too carbonated in taste in this instance, the fizz detracts from the chocolate taste to an extent, although the full chocolate aroma isn't impacted.
