On tap at The Reservoir, Waterbury, VT.
This was poured into a mason jar.
The appearance was a nice lookingdark brown colorwith a one finger white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Light messy lacing.
The smell had some light piney hops over top of some nutty to coffee aromas balancing nicely.
The taste was moderately sweet through the previously mentioned malty flavors and gently bleeds the piney hops back in subtly. Light piney/nutty aftertaste. Semi-smooth finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed good enough to balance the bitter piney harshness to hit my tongue nicely.
Overall I say as an American styled brown ale it works. I’d have this again.
